I AM REALLY GETTING THERE! BEFORE AND AFTER

I have had this room in the house the kind of room that was my sign shop and than grew into the catch all of what you do not want any where but think you might want to keep.... room.  I have thrown out to the curb and garbage almost 4 cans worth of trash I do not want everything I put out to the curb someone has come and grabbed a good for them deal for free. The other greatness of this is I sold some big ticket things in here and made more than I spent with extra and that all is sewing cash flow and catch a bill or two. what a great plus. that made it like I got paid for cleaning my own space up.! SMILES! This adventure was overwhelming at first now feels so good for sure. Well here are 2 very really scarey pictures of the before part. you have been warned!

WIth alot of great support and inspiration from the quilters on the quilting board and a few really great quilting friends who routed me on via texting and ideas and posative influence sharing. I managed to get this far durring the weekend with a reward trip to the quilt farm in boston, ny  and grabbed up a nice stash to make both a quilt for a friend and a great wall hanging for my new room.

This top pic is the sign shop stuff I decided to keep and set up and I will be making some great sewing decals and other stuff. the down side I lost half the room to thia. The upside I can use it now and you will be seeing some cool new decals to dree up your cars rooms and anything smmoth with great sewing stickers and decals. Coming soon.
This side is not all worked out however its got some sewing machines here and I am almost ready to get creative. When I got the space emptied and so much vacuming I reliezed the room was not big enough for my design area and all. so that I am working now. and hopeful will have done by this week and be all set to sew adn create in such a beafutiful new space.  There is still a lot to do however the major bulk of it all is done. now to just organize!

THANK YOU FOR THE SUPPORT AND POZ ENERGY FLOW THAT I COULD DO THIS AND KEPT THE OVERWHELMING BAREABLE!

Coop Update and Some Small Sewing

I have been running around yet at the same time my motivation has been low in the energy department.  However I got off my butt long enough to get a few things done here and there. The chicken Run is all finished feneced on top to keep the hawks out and all conneted in 2 runs into one with shaded area and sunny area too. The roof is now on the Coop. I am not by any means a roofer but I manged to get this up and complted leak free.

Also I need to add some small sewing A few fun bracelets in here just to work it up to get my motivation going as I believe I have a perfect space and will be making a new sewing room where the whole room will be all my sewing. This will be a lot of work however I believe it will be a nice area when I am finished.  Fingers crossed I get moving to make this happen.

My New Setup and an Invite To Anyone To sew In The Woods.

To my amazement my friend Sherry ( who feels 1 sewing machine all anyone who likes to sew ever needs (she doesn't like sewing) sent me a pic from a garage sale with a table , chair and a small mechinacal singer in perfect condtion. I went over looked it over and there was also a mother load of Viking 116/118 feet and parts inside the chair. That was a great find as I also have this model at home too. I grabbed it all up for $35 and than a few of us went up to my camp. I set it all up everything worked like a dream. I Enjoyed a weekend with a small break in the shade sewing away nothing of real value just some scrap fabric that a friends grabbed up for me to make up some dog beds. What a lovely weekend filled with nature friends food and great sewing fun.  I would like to extend the invite to my sewing friends to come up and plug in and sew outside for a weekend up at my camp.

Duck Quilt Gifted & Back To Work On The Coop

What a joy and great time I had Making the Duck Quilt! A lot of love pasion and learning went into this and well worth the effort. Just in time; the baby shower was at 2:00 and the binding and my first label got finished at 1:30 Saturday.  It has been gifted off and I am back on to finishing the new chicken coop and using a lot of pallet word I cut & stripped off for free.  This is not turning out to be as elaborate as I wanted however we have decided we will prob. Going permanent with a shed later and when I started this that was not an option at all in our discussions.  So I will continue this and finish up and the girls will still have a very lovely space to hang and nest in until we really get the rest figured out as we go along.

UFO Finishing, First Sew In, Free Range Chicken Fun.

Ok the pressure is on and I need to take the plunge here.  The Ducks are finally basted and I will be finishing them up before this Saturday. This may seem like a straight forward easy job to finish. The issue is that this is my grandest quilt and I am feeling a bit leery of touching it in fear of  messing it. I know just do it. that is the plan.  Its basted and I have the machine all set up and I have no excuses now I just need to do it!.

On Saturday I did some work in the house and finally got the couch out that was really just something I did not care for any more. In light of that I through up an 8 ft table and a few machines and had a couple friends come over and we had a blast for our first sew in at the house. there was plenty of room and Sherry joined us with her crocheting. Creativeness and good chatting away was a wonderful time I plan to repeat as often as time allows.

Than I took a break inside and went out to clean up a bunch in the yard and fire pit too. Since I was out almost all day I let the girls out to free range and play and get into everything they could find. they had a blast and loved it.  It was fun to watch them chase each other around when one got a great bug prize. They will not be out free much only if we all are out there its just too dangerous with all the hawks and other predators around us.

Part 2 Of More Sulky Class Post here & There To Come Home and Emotional High Physically Drained

I will be adding more posts here and there as I go along at this time I am home from the best 3 days in my sewing yet. Had a super blast in Ohio sewing away and meeting awesome new sewing friends.
These posts are broken up due to the fact I was a walking zombie when I got home and this is the mess I left myself to clean up and reset up my room. Plus work had to take place to bring me back into the reality of daily life. I promise to be posting more and more as I go along! This pic will show I need some clean up organizing time first.

I have to add a fun sewing pic from the week so here is one of 10 projects we did it was just on the top so easy access to grab take pic and post up. I think I impressed myself as well as loved this project.  Any feedback good bad or indifferent to help my improvement muchly accepted.

Recycled or Re-purposing Fabrics & Some Stash Busting Bag Fun

Sometimes being creative means to let go of the hype surrounding the commercialism part of the craft and bust out the old fashion way with whats laying around.
The above is a design from a Lunchbox embroidery set I got. this was the first block of many to come that involve almost all recycling of fabrics. I love new beautiful fabrics and all however I love sewing  and experimenting  so much that using less expensive or free sources of fabrics is the way to go for somethings too.  The Denim background is from old jeans and the black body of the applique is from an old tee shirt and the pink skull dress is a very inexpensive fussy cut fun remnant piece.  I am planing more stuff like this too.

Also there is a time that stash busting is a good thing too and I wanted to try some raw edge improvisational applique so I looked around and found a viking shopping bag cut the seams out and made it lay flat  (another recycle) ready  to use as my foundation and busted into an already opened  jelly roll and just went to town.  See Pic

I now have the top finished and the skull yellow fabric is something I have laying around in my stash that  I will be using for the liner. I maybe adding some embroiderer to this too and redoing the handles.  I will keep you all updated as it takes more form and shape.

A Beautiful Evening After Work Sewing On The Deck.

I love when the weather breaks and get a chance to take everything outside. This allows the magic of nature to caress my spirit will I feed my soul by creating anything and everything.

I am looking into alternative power sources to add to outdoor sewing. Right at the moment I have a 2nd battery hooked to my pick up truck so I can sew off my tail gate. I want to try and take it to the next level and be able to sew any where my truck can not go too. Please share any ideas along the way you have.

Sorry For My Mix Mp In Comments. & A New Guild To Me.

Sorry for missed non replied comments

I seem to of been extremely ignorant in how the comments work and I will try and catch up on my mistake. If I have this figured out now some comments are replied through email and those are the ones I have missed and others are replied to under the posts here in my blog. I will be careful to try and not that and reply back via email when they are not here under the post. I thought I was going crazy.  I just figured this out on my own today so please give me some time to catch up and Please keep comments coming.

I believe I am going to join a Guild

Thanks to my Rocking friend Nadine I just went to her guild meeting last night with my sewing partner in crime; we had a great time met some great people too. the show and tell was super great and listening to some of the up coming plans they have coming to. I will be updating on this as it evolves.  Lots of great fun. Here is a link of an old newspaper article I found that has the guild info in it.

I am always in need of posting a pic

Here is some silly thread art play for a little bit as I still get use to the new long arm and my partner in crime has played some to. Its amazing how fast one looses time so fast driving around the machine in fun play.

Duck Top Finished & Some Crazy Long Arm Driving

I am excited there are some mistakes this was a bit harder than I thought to try and line up all the rows. I did some seam ripping and all however I am proud and THANKS TO URBAN THREADS for the great ducks  that I embroidered for this quilt top to be born.  Now to think about the next steps in making it happen into a finished quilt for my friend.

On another note here is some of my practice on my new long arm  setup. As you can see from the pics it will surely be awhile before I put a quilt top on to finish. However I am having a blast practicing and playing. I have about 26 yards and lots of different threads to play with so I am all happy.

I Am Here All Is Well. Here Is Some Highlights Of Some Of the Good Stuff.

Sorry it has been so long to post things have been insanely busy with this that and the in-between. All is well and there have been some amazing great things in my sewing world although not much sewing.  Let me share some of it with you here.

Long over due is telling you all about the last weeks where I went to the Quilt Show in Ohio that was amazing! Also they sent me the pics of how the community days went while we where gone and the bears we made ahead of time now have a lots of friends. Nothing feels better than making a difference with the help of my fav people Roz and Rochelle at Blasdell Viking Sewing Gallery...

This shows a Business that cares and that is where I like to spend my money.

The big grand thing is I scored a deal on an imperial grace frame @ EdenSewingCenter I am almost ready to begin to play with it after a lot of craziness to get it together. All I am in need of is some Tracks as the ones with it where 5’ and I have it set up for 10’.  I am Very Excited. Oh yes also might have a deal on a machine coming too. Fingers Crossed it all happens sooner than I think.

My awesome great sewing friend Nadine alerted me to a longarrm class that was @ CreeksideFabrics Saturday  presented by Wenda Coburn. (I highly recommend her if she is in your area)
What a great time we had and how cool it was to enjoy hanging out and talking quilting all day.
SMILES!

I also have just been playing around with this and that here in the sewing room.  I will update the many more going on's to come this week. There is some other really great things happening in my sewing world. I can not wait to share with you.

An Eventful and Productive Wonderfully Beautiful Weekend

Well now in the preparation of the weekend to come I spent all day Saturday Busting out some Bears for Community Days next Saturday March 23rd @ Blasdell Viking Sewing Gallery  since I will be @ the Pittsburgh Quilt Show that day and can not make it. I still wanted to make a contribution. I changed the engineering and added a heart  from the 1st 2 posted in another blog. I was the embroiderer, pattern cutter and stuffer. Sherry sewed them all up and Cat did the major surgery job of Hand sewing all the legs together.  What a great family team work project we all had fun sharing in.  Staying up way past our bed times.

Sunday we all got up early to spend the morning with my beautiful mom and shared her morning together as her youngest daughter turned another year older. ( THAT WOULD BE ME! ) We shared a great morning with lots of wonderful sewing surprise gifts that Rocking Great Roz set my sister up with for me. Sherry and Mom went off on a different adventure and Cat and I went off to our first Block of the month at Blasdell Viking Sewing Gallery. Rochelle did a great job showing and sharing the ways to make this great fun block. & than Roz showed up with some really yummy great cupcakes from a new place in East Aurora to add to the magic of the day.  I did not finish my Blocks as my brain was so tired and sleeping away I think plus we had a few seam ripping moments. I must say I am become a pro at seam ripping for sure. Below you will see a picture of one of Cat's finished blocks how awesome this block will look all finished in a quilt to come later.

Than it was time to come home and before I crashed out early to catch up before Mondays soon to come work day I had to do one more thing just for me.  While getting things ready in the morning for the class I  ran into this funky deep red leaped print fabric in the wild bartered stash area fabric. I had to redo the non matching ugly leafy sheet table cover with the cool new stash find.  Now there is a very warm cool funky great look that brings that area all together warmly.  I am so really loving how this sewing area is coming together now.
